dron, how long have you been waiting for them already?
i was thinking of just getting some cheap stronglight cranks until i have enough money for sugino rd2's?
or maybe saving £70 and get the rd2's in the first place... -

I think £60 is quite a lot for those cranks TBH.

so far it's been 12 days... but i live in copenhagen
i just sent them a mail this very minute requesting a tracking number. i think 30 pounds for a chainset (with ring) might be worth the wait. but lets see what customs say... -
• #19
we got them yesterday - 13 days from i placed the order. that's quick enough for me.
while they are cheap, they are definitely not pieces of art! theres burr and small irregularities, especially on the backside where it doesn't matter that much really.
the cranks are converted road jobbies and come with the chainring on the inside. it fits on the outside as well and since we need a new bb we'll find a good chainline. (i'm gonna measure it and tell you what spindle length is needed)
even though they are a little rough when close, i find them quite beautiful from just a short distance. and the missus who will use them on her benotto is completely pleased with them!i'll post some pics when i can be bothered...
edit: and yes they were caught in customs - still worth it though

im getting pake cranks but i dont kniw if i shud get 165 or 170?any advice
-
• #22
same price?? 165, why not
-
• #23
I've got some on my pug conversion and they are lovely little things, not the lightest in the world but for the price they cost they aren't going to be.
I ordered the 165 in silver and they have held up really well this winter. I've heard a few times that the chain ring might need replacing at some point but that isn't really a great expense.

165mm might be preferable, as shorter cranks means less chance of pedal strike (esp when cornering), especially if your bike has a low BB (e.g. if you're riding a converted road frame).
Hope this helps.
I'm looking for a cheap crankset, noticed they were listed on the list in the 'bikes and bits' thread so i gathered that they couldn't be that rubbish...
i used the search and found nothing.
so, has anyone got any reviews on them?
would be much appreciated.
thanks, jack.
