cool I'd been looking for something like this for my back wheel for a while. I presume they do the job?

yeah I spotted these just before posting - but the 35USD postage charge was putting me off, cheapskate that I am.
might end up doing it all the same, because it's not much more that I saw a set go on ebay for a while ago.
getmebludd?!

Ras - any chance you want to order yours at the same time and we'll split the postage?
-
• #7
Yeah i'm in, if there are no other options.

the postage will be the same if we order together (they do it by pricing band) - 35USD, which works out at a reasonable £10 each according to xe.com
plus the cost of the guards @ around £3 each. I'll be ordering two, you just want the one, right?
I'm happy to register and do the order etc, if you're happy to paypal me your share, and I'll let you know as soon as they arrive.
let's wait a couple of days to see if anything comes up nice and cheap on the forum - otherwise good to go.

I've got a set of those splash guards that I'm not using. A trade would be nice as I'm in need of a few bits and bobs for my new build (brake lever, front brake etc). PM me if you're still interested.

@ bikepusher. if i do bite the bullet i want a pair as well.

I think they might keep some of the crud off the brakes, but that's about all that they do.

I got a pair of old Weinmann ones you can have, they won't ever make it onto my bike, PM me if you want them. I am in the Kings Cross area.

No longer need these as P!MP has sorted me out. Cheers

i thought these style things went out of favour in the early 80s because of their uselessness? i had some on a raleigh "racer" at the time and even as a kid i was able to discern that the section of wheel that throws spray up your bumcrack is nowhere near the section covered by these. by the time the tyre's rotated to where these are it's already flicked it's soggy cargo all over your back and arse. hehe, that sounds smutty.

yes, they are purely an aesthetic addition for my old touring bike that does about-town duties. quite useless in the rain I'm sure.
anyway, thanks to Kat for supplying a nice shiny pair!
I'm after something like this (front and rear):
seem to be hard to find - if anyone has a pair from an old tourer/shopper they'd like to sell/trade, or knows of a shop that stocks them, please let me know.
ta!
