So this hasn't been posted in recently so I thought I'd liven it up a bit.
As you can see there's quite a few conversions rolling about town these days!
I particularly like the Sun frame, it's gorgeous. It's just a shame the owner is going to have parts nicked on him because he can't lock it properly...idiot. Lovely bike though!
The last image is of a wee single-speed I saw in Stillorgan, even THAT bike is locked better than the Sun because it doesn't have quick release wheels!

Adam, that last bike is clearly my bike!!
-

Haha and that yolk on the wheel is really good, one of Spacecowboys mates has one and it looked great at one of the alleycats.
-
• #312
Jayzis, I wouldn't trust quick release on a rear fixed wheel
-
• #313
It's not a fixie, it's a singlespeed, he has only one chainring but there's a cassette on the back (no dérailleurs though)

I had a qr on my bike for a while, you can get them unbelieveibly tight, ok the tension was lost after a few days but it did.

The thing on the wheel is grand. That one is massive, I have some 'hookie spookes' and they do frikin rawk an chilled out rides like critical mass or whatever. They suck if you are covering any distance fast.. but thats obvious. I dunno how he's riding with one, they screw the balance of your wheel... even when you use two or four.

Bike in question:

Spotted a chick on a dark blue Bianchi( If memory serves me) w/ turquoise rims the other day, cool bike
-
• #320
Yikes, the gearing ratio on that pink one looks way too low.
-
• #321
Ye, but it has a back brake too so maybe the person isnt too confident yet. The paint job was real bad, and those stems make me feel ill.
-
• #322
You think thats bad, wait til you see the stem on my yellow self build. Its so ugly it will make you cry.
-
• #323
Is it a clamp on or a quill, cause I have a old quill off a carlton if you want it. Or if its a clamp, just be cheap like me and go for this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=33521

Its a quill stem for 1" threaded forks. I have nicer stems at home but no bars yet to put through them. The stem I currently have is for larger bars (the bars I have are fairly fugly too.)

Ill stick up a photo of the stem I have at some stage, and if you want it, its yours.
I can only think of one reason Flickerx would be telling me to lay off the weed because its paranoia inducing... you're paranoid that I'm about to find out the truth and it is indeed a trap.
