From standing start
Distance of approximately 200m (may well vary as this is NOT an Olympic event)
Participants do a timed qualifying run
Leading participants then go head to head in elimination races
The course is flat and has a pretty good surface but relies on light spilling over from the Olympics construction site so lights ARE needed
Bring down cans rather than bottles as we're keen to keep the track glass free and please make an effort to put waste in rubbish bags provided..."take only photos, leave only skid marks"
Track is not too far from the Clapton roundabout, will have clearer details soon on how to get there (location from last round has been taken over by Olympics site)
Either follow the directions below, or easier still, meet up outside the Cat and Mutton at 7:00 with someone guiding through
Stuff needed, glass jars, tea lights and a couple of glow sticks. If you can help out, please PM me
Further point worth adding is these will NOT be happening on Hackney Wick like last time as this is now being encroached upon by the Olympic site so don't head that way
Directions can be found in the attached map - will look to upload images later in the week to provide further guidance.
To get to the site of your own accord, would first recommend stocking up on whatever refreshments you want from the off licence by Clapton Pond (marked on map and picture below)
Make your way to the Lea Bridge Roundabout and head down Lea Bridge Road passing the Princess of Wales pub on the right and the Lea Valley Ice Centre on the left. Soon after the Ice Centre is a bus stop on the right hand side of the road with a path heading behind it.
Head down this path which then provides you with the option of heading left (West) or right (East). You want to be heading right underneath the road and towards Walthamstow Marshes.
You should get to the following gate and overhead pipe, head through
Soon after, you will get to a clear stretch of road where we will be running our sprints. Is pretty plain sailing...
