I cannot believe this thread has been started. Its very sad that someone would feel the need to influence others in this way, when we have agreed to vote on things as a community.
I'm sorry ladies, but you are simply wrong on this point. It is perfectly within the bounds of what is normally considered the democracy for people to not only vote, but to voice their opinions in for or against particular options/candidates.
During elections and votes, individuals and organizations routinely take out advertisements in all forms of public media; they flier people on the street; they voice opinions on internet blogs and forums; in the US they call your house all day long; and so on.
Some people may not have thought much about the various choices, and Mike's point here was simply to ensure that people understood the position for voting "no" on 6. To the extent that this thread has actually given people more information than they had before, it has contributed to the democratic process.
