Thanks Rik, I tried my local hardware store already, and have looked on the Halfords and Leyland websites, but couldn't find any Plus Gas...
Are there other brand / generic penetrating oils that these places might stock?
Cheers

Andy, I'm in Bethnal Green, so could get down easily to Waterloo. Do you know what the shop is called?
I have a seized seat post it's moving a bit but not enough. Hoping plus gas will do it.
Rik, I've tried WD-40, but it's not really enough. :(

I found plus gas hard to get hold of. WD-40 isn't the same, not as thin and "penetrating". But I found a penetrating oil in the "3-in-1" brand range (they do loads of types now). In a spray can, very good stuff. I beleive it was in Halfrauds.

Any old penetrating oil will do the trick. I've used Halfords own for years and it's never failed.

Sewing machine oil is meant to be even better than 3 in 1 oil.

BTW I'm not recommending 3-in-1 itself for this! good for door hinges and lawnmowers though!
Anyone know where I can pick up some Plus Gas penetrating oil in London?
