try posting in Bikes and Bits rather than Forum help and Testing which is not, despite the name, about helping with bike questions.

will: classifieds and shopping would be more appropriate surely.

Am in East London
Thanks
Apologies for squatting on old posts - am not allowed to post for a while :)

I have one that I'm giving away for free but you can't have it because you just can't seem to respect forum protocol.

I'm after eternal piece and goodwill to all (apart from Australians of course).
But like your requests for chainrings, I won't find it here!

OK - Apologies for not respecting the forum protocol.
Whatever it is that I am meant to have done, may I be gnarled within the cogs of your chainrings.
So how exactly have I transgressed?

You've also made it worse by posting on a thread where the original poster was purposefully reprimanded for posting in the wrong area. Why did you think that would end well for you?

OK - I have read it and digested the information. This stands out:
*"Effectively there is a cooling-off period in which new members should get acclimatised to the forum and get to see how it works, and the forum should get a moment to become familiar with the new person. We are basically forcing you to ease yourself in gently... but honestly, doing so is better for you, this place can be harsh so just go with it."*
Now let me make my case: I am very much in contact with members of your forum (I daren't say 'our forum' in case I am still in the quarantine...sorry nursery) on a face-to-face basis.
Lovely people that you all are in person, you actually care about the reality of what happens in the outside world - I NEEDED a chainring with 110 BCD to complete a recycling project by this week - I nearly went out and bought one from the shops when one of your **own **considerate members told me to ask within this forum as people are keen to recycle their parts and generally support initiatives.
She also told me not to spam, troll, threaten, spit, swallow etc etc - she also told me to come in and be timid, demure, shy and ask innocent questions which would then allow me to introduce my motive - this in my book is **lower **than stating my motive upfront.
Indeed, if I had asked for advice on where to get frame paint to match my existing nail varnish colour, perhaps the flaming would have been worth it...
So, my crime was to mistakenly post in the wrong area - I apologise and am happy to delete my post but guess what - us toddlers can't do this.
So, all noted and I remain reprimanded and exiled in my nursery for however long you see fit.
Just don't go damaging your chainrings or chucking them down the canal because of my childish need to ask for a spare part - for which I would have been happy to pay what was asked of course...

If you know people on the forum and are in a bit of a hurry to get parts then you should have mentioned that. I wouldn't know about others but I certainly would have considered your request more favourably.
Also, I would suggest a crash course in appreciating deadpan and cruel humour otherwise much of this forum will elude you.
More than three posts and more than 48 hours tenure. I think you'll find you're out of the nursery and can go posting new threads in the classifieds section.

Thanks for (and I am serious) - Now time for me to go and annoy those pesky Primary School Kiddies...
BTW, cruel humour and a bit of witty sarcasm is lost on my teutonic personality :-)
Hope to contribute more fruitfully in the future...

Considerate?? Definitely not one of ours then. You sure she didn't mean BikeRadar?
