I guess if you built the wheels yourself or knew someone who'd do it for free, met that guy in the service station with the cheap rims and got some second hand miche hubs well cheap plus cheap spokes then you could do it cheaper still........

no, that was a realistic quote. Plenty of people on here pay too much for stuff rather than shop around.

dmc has removed the need for proof but it was based on £60 hubs + £30 spokes + £60 rims + £20 build. Very doable if you're on this forum and use the knowledge on here. Add another £10 cos you had to pay for the rims' postage and another £20 cos you couldn't find someone who would build you them for £20.. still only £200.
