Saddles

  • So my Spec Toupé snapped (what a f*cking surprise)

Now I'm looking at a new saddle. Don't know whether to invest in a fizik (Aerone), sam marco (Regal), a stelle or go with something cheaper. I'm just riding it to work at the moment averaging 100-125 miles a week.

What do y'all think about the Charge Knife? I hear people have issues with the stiching rubbing?

    Peas

  • I'd buy the Arione K:1

    Good saddle.

  • ^cheap too

  • hahaha cheers Dov... obviously I've got the cash but I'd rather grab the Selle Italia as it doesn't look like a prop from a porno.

  • this is what i use now after my toupe broke.

  • That's not really superlight though is it? My SLR = 135g and you can get lighter:

  • But it is 1/3rd the cost of a SLR saddle! Or less if you go for the 10g heavier chromoly railed version.

  • If you read the OP, as far as I can see he is not looking for a weight weenie saddle.

Its fucking cheap and good fit*.

    • for me.
  • Yeah, I did, was just saying as they call it 'superlight' - but if it's comfy on your derrier then fair play.

  • Also can I point out although I immensely enjoy participating in saddle threads, we already have a well established thread which should be informative reading.

  • Putting the SLR aside, you can't go wrong with a Flite Titanium. You can get them for a good price second hand in good nick and BLB had some good condition ones recently for £40.

  • ooo nice one fox.... I've just seen my bank balance (which sucks) so I'm going for a £50 maximum. I have to say this whole 'racing' vs. townie position thing is right on the moneyz. I generally ride on the drops... flats sucks
