My new frame has a split in the drive side drop-out, for belt installation. The break is bridged by a plate (several mm's thick) screwed to both the top and the bottom of the inside of the drop-out. Still looks like a bullet proof set-up to me.
Now that doesn't look safe to me :-)
The neatest solution out there. And useless memory aside here are the bikes I have had over the last few years (nothing special but bit of variety);
Fixed - Mercian (1970s), 3 x Surly Steamroller, EAI Bareknuckle, Colnago Dream Pista, Dolan Precursa
Singlespeed - Dialled Love/hate, Orange P7, Cannondale 1FG, Santa Cruz Chameleon, Felt Breed
