OK, here is my fixie beater. I'd be tempted to do something about the paintwork and rust but you can see by the saddle height that the frame is way too big for me. So I'm going to change the frame soon. But its done me well enough over the years and its not a bad frame at that, even if it does still have the crappy rear wheel on that it had when I got it. Gear ratio is well twiddly, something that I'll change once I've got used to cycling again.
And since photos of me are few and far between... I'm going to go with this one.
Where's that house in the background ?

Hey guys and girls!
This is my great-grandfather Ernest in 1907, just after he won £100 in a race on a cinder track.
Fixed gear ...that is excellent. isn't that about £8,500 in today's money? nice win.

Yeah, think it was about a year's wages for him as he was a boiler maker.
I have inherited his knees. As a lady, not sure that is a good thing. Would have preferred to have inherited his bike. -

First time posting in this thread for me. Having had my Lemond Filmore snatched a few months back by some little poindexter, I decided to splurge some cash and build up this little beauty. I BLOODY LOVE THE THING.
And here for your amusement is the face behind the wheels:
nice set up timmaahh

Thanks. I just found the photo recently, and it has really inspired me. My grandad also raced and used to win random stuff like a suite of bedroom furniture.

Thanks Braker and Dayno, and also thanks be to Cavendish Cycles who helped source and build a lot of it.

I love seeing everyone's bikes. This forum is pretty awesome, I'm lucky to spot one nice bike a day in Dublin... when I went over to London a couple months back my jaw was literally hitting the ground at all the gorgeous bikes over there, every other second we were going "oh my god look at that one!" - especially in Islington, that place is over-run with nice fixed gear and single speeds!

nice bike :)
That second photo looks like you were caught off-guard in the middle of a conversation with your hand... you know, like when you draw eyes on your hand and make it talk to you.... ok I sound weird now.

If you want to get out of the nursery by getting your post count up, at least post something interesting.
That was bloody pathetic.

It was in reference to my post.
They don't have to be interesting, they just have to be on topic

Fixed commuter/winter bike (with summer mudguard). The ugliest bike on the forum?
And road bike (fork will be cut soon after interminable position footering). -
