Find some washers that will fit under the bearing race so that the brake is brought forward and away from the bearing race. Does that make sense? Me's no good wiv werdz.

Butters?

I hate those clamp-on brakes.
I like the washer idea, but I don't think there's enough room for any washer I've ever seen. I shall have a hunt around. -

I found a six-sided nut which slips over the spindle thing. I't still doesn't fit, but the hex face seems to hold the brake steady enough for me to fit it, tighten it and adjust it, so hopefully I can ride it too.
Now if I hadn't just snapped the sodding seatpost clamp...

I was thinking of something like this but a six-sided nut would do too.

that would be perfect if it was about 3-4mm thick and the flat face was right up against the hole

I got a washer and filed it down to look like this as a temp fix until i could get some single chain ring bolts. i used it on the back of a double chain ring bolt and its worked :) -

thread closed :D that's the solution.

Drat, same problem here. Going to find some washers to stack up.

this thread/problem is insurmountable without retro di corsa and a tool kit

this has come up before;i had same thing and think spacers are engineering wise a bit dodgy.get a small cheap file and"relieve" the bit of ally from brake which is gonna rub if like mine it was obviously not going to compromise the strength of caliper

I'd have to remove most of the brake calliper if I was to go that way - it's way tighter than that raleigh. I have some nice thick hex nuts which will work as spacers if I dremel one of the faces down to squeeze in there. It's all fine.

A mate gave me a front reflector on a bracket that fits between the fork and the brake, ducking under the caliper and up on front. The bracket material is just thick enough to space it out with about 1/2 mm to spare when tight. I reckon two washers would be just as secure though, provided you got a snug fit.

Oh bugger,
I'm building up the new Harry Quinn track bike, now the brakes have arrived, and I discover that the drilling is so snug against the bearing race that I can't actually put any brake caliper on there. Piss.
Looks like I'm brakless unless one of you has a fabulous plan?
