I was on the cycle lane on Clapham Common waiting at the lights like a good girl.
Spotted Mr ASM on Borough High Street. I was on a side street again waiting at the lights.
^See Mr van Driver who shouted at me this morning "YOU GO THROUGH ALL THE RED LIGHTS" besides I was going through a green light when you shouted, so there.
Today? drop bars + wet roads make me scared...
2 bad red light incidents today...
got stopped by the police after skidding to avoid a motor bike. My attention was so focused I didn't notice the police car in the right hand lane... D'OH! I really tried my luck by refusing to back down over the fact that sometimes it is safer for cyclists to jump red lights... cannot belive I got away without a fine! Props to the officer though, he was very reasonable, yet firm. Good to know some of her majesty's finest are indeed pretty good.
2nd incident: On the way home, I was being very careful with the lights in light of the morning run in with the bill, yet i still somehow managed to do a big skid to avoid people crossing the road, and then get told off by Mr Johnathan Wilkinson, quite rightly, for jumping a red light!
Very poor form on my behalf, but in my defence I think the light was out on my side, or it was one of those weird junctions (it was the walworth road, after all). Or maybe being confronted with people running across the road absorbed all of my attention and I once again failed to see the more pressing fact of it being a red light.
Either way, I suffered a very poor recognition of red lights today. I blame the stupid drop bars I foolishly put back on my bike yesterday. Needless to say they're coming off for tomorrow!
