  • Hi Guys,
After reading the hype about pedros tyre levers and snapping all my ancient levers i decided to try some out
    £1.99 from CRC (incl. P&P)

    Other Products used

    • Topeak Hexus Tyre Levers - Excellent
    • This wierd extendable one - Excellent (took alot of abuse until it snapped - looked like the extendable park one)
    • Welgo levers - Terrible

    The First set:
Well the first set came the day after i had ordered them (good 'ol crc) unfortunatley one had snapped after attempting to take a tyre of for the second time (on the second wheel) i was not putting undue pressure on it. i have tried & used my topeak hexus multitool levers for around 2 years, i have only snapped 2 levers when i was exerting far more force than they should be subjected to (i am very pleased with these levers, best fucking tool i have ever bought)

Here are the pictures of the snap, say what you want, but i wasnt putting alot of pressure on this lever

    The Second Set:
After a little email to CRC they agreed to replace my tyre levers agreeing it was a faulty lever, they have arrived today, i still feel very hesistant of taking tyre off so currently im being very careful with them

Heres some pictures of me taking off a tyre

    Performance:
Apart from feeling a little brittle and weak (i think thats just paranoia created by myself from snapping one after barely any use) they performance is quite good.
    Good points:

    • double sided spoke clip

    • Wide design, get more power into it
    • stacable, you can 'clip' them together which is a nice space saving design and also makes it harder to lose 1 (but easier to lose all of them)
    • the fact they are yellow and bright helps if you drop them out on a trail, makes them easier to spot
    • they dont damage the tyre bead
    • they 'slide' around the rim not marking it after taking a bit of the tyre off

    Overall View:
I cant really comment at the moment but the new levers seem fairly promising and its nice having 3 now hehe i shall decide after a few months of use

I shall update this in a few weeks after doing some more testing
i hoped this was useful to someone and recommendations on other tyre levers would be nice :)

  • New member.

  • then fuck off and post something which actually contributes to the communtiy, there is a reason for the nursery

  • Can't you just waste time by having a wank like other teenagers?

  • Thank god you've posted this review, I was practically in tears deciding which tyre levers to buy! So many colours and plastics used. You're a saint.

  • really?

  • This is a fucking joke post, right?
    Tyre lever reviews?

  • Fine ffs, i just thought it would be useful, christ some people are harsh

  • Can you do some other reviews? How about those little end caps for valves? I lie awake at night wondering which ones are best for performance versus the trade off with value for money.

You want the ones that light up for full twat effect.

  • Dude, you did some research and posted it up, fair play. To be honest it was fucking boring info but useful none the less. Next time spend a year wrecking tyres on the same patch of street and compare wear patterns. Or huck all the trick frames down 10 sets again and again til you know what the score is. No-one cares about levers.
I tend to buy levers fairly regularly cos i always get the shit ones from my lbs often wrecking 1 or 2 per tyre. I've always assumed all levers are shit because of this and never bothered to buy anything better.
This review probably wont change my habits.

  • Fine i wont fucking bother again to do any fucking review, i wont bother wasting my time, christ, man way to be a cunt

  • actually edmundro, that tyres lever is defintely the best one I've use, it's plastic yet still better than even metal one, still have mine for years.

  • Best. Thread. Ever.

  • Actually I think reviews of products can be a useful addition to the community...

    but...

Tyre levers ffs?!?!?! Dude I am this close to ROFL copter-ing!

  • why don't you just get some better tyres, and forget the punctures?

  • Tyre levers ffs?!?!?! Dude I am this close to ROFL copter-ing!

You know you wanna, go on......fly the copter....let it fly.....

  • come on, he reviewed something, i reckon that's a good thing. If you don't give a fuck, do so and shut it, don't slag him off for trying to add something to the community

since tyre levers snap all the time it would be good to know which works better than others

Dude, i was being serious, reviews are a good thing, just saying if you're going to do it then do it on important parts of our wonderful hobby. I dig your enthusiasm that you felt compelled to write one but really you should have reviewed at least half a dozen different along with spoons, butter knives etc.

Hell, if they are good levers then maybe i'll buy some, then again i really can't afford fancy levers when i'm about to become bikeless :(

  • I've had the same set of blue plastic Park levers for years now, they seem to do the job just fine.

  • Hey rocker, perhaps a bit basic for some of the herd but good effort.

And you've probably saved us from a future "what tyre lever?" thread so no complaints from me.

  • Crank Bros Speed Lever FTW!

    ... that or thumbs.

Oh for fucks sake. I don't recall having ever bought a pair of tyre levers but seem to have dozens of them at home. They are a cheap (i.e. less than £2) consumable, usually work and have a tendency to snap and are not something worth reviewing as what insight can you bring to it.

To compound this, the first set he tried snapped within minutes of arrival. My interest in ever acquiring a pair of Pedros tyre levers ended at that point.
