I've gone for the simple slotted disc caliper mounts for my SS offroad build but then as its a belt drive I'm hoping not to have to adjust tension as the belt should'nt stretch (special chain tugs should insure that the wheel sits in the same spot after removal).
I had a Santa Cruz Chameleon a few years back that was just slotted and ran discs with no problems. Once set it was fine and removing/replacing rear wheels was no more hassle than a v brake setup.
Just made me think how much I miss that bike now! Pace RC31s, Hope hubs etc, weighing in around 9kgs made a very fast XC bike.
Still, have now discovered single speed cyclo cross bikes which are the fastest cross country machines I have owned (living in the technically unchallenging New Forest)
