No personal yogo experience but my Dad is in his mid sixtes has two slipped disks and general wear and tear from a back from a life time of hard manual labor.
After going to chiropractors for decades, several times a year he had one teach him some basic exercises which look yogaish to me. He now does the moves ever morning. His back goes out a lot less often than it used to. Plus now 90% of the time when he dose pull a muscle in his back instead of being crippled and paying someone to pull him about he does the exercises and it sorts it out. It's all to do with strengthening underused muscles and evening out muscle strength apparently.
