  • Around 18:00 I was making a routine commute to my Monday night yoga class. I had barely left Finsbury Park (home) when on Mountgrove Road I was cycling at a slow to reasonable pace (but roads empty so wasn't holding anyone up). I saw two pedestrians (women in mid twenties) with a big dog. One of them was carrying a dog lead, and as I passed them she scuttled behind me and then whacked me with the dog lead, using it like a whip. OMG! Total random act of violence. I was so furious. And also completely caught off guard. Luckily I was moving so she didn't get a great shot, but still! I wanted to turn around and ride into her using the bike and myself as a weapon. But realized being a puny girl and outnumbered 2.5 to 1 (I gathered immediately they would have no ethical problems with an unfair advantage and tag team to kick my arse and set the dog on me after to eat my face. Insult to injury, as I cycled off into the distance, I heard them laughing to each other. Yes, it was that hilarious.
