Bike stolen in the last 12 hours from my balcony!

Please look out, could anyone go to Brick Lane today as I have to go to work??

That's shit, how high up was the balcony?

That Presto is a pretty distinctive frame, so should make it easier to spot. I'll keep a look out when I'm about in Hackney. I Hope you get it back.

I'm at work now and literally can't think of anything else.

The balcony is first floor, with a locked gate, I usually put my locks through my frame/wheels but forgot(AAARGH). I'm sure one person climbed round the gate and passed it back to someone else.

I called the police and I should get a letter within 3 days, this is GREAT NEWS THANKS

Some friends have looked up and down for the last hour or so, and told community officers, but no luck. I keep having nightmare images of it being joyridden by some kids then dumped somewhere in a wreck. Or POWDERCOATED over its 1980 OG paintwork..

Are they those infamous 'sheriff star' hubs? If so, you might find the culprit walking around with mangled teeth from ragging them too hard...

I didn't know what you meant so I consulted Sheldon. Mine was 6-pronged, not 5, so not 'sheriff star'. Can't really find much info about these... I might not have bought it if I knew though. Oh well. Probably won't see it again.

Likewise, had a look round brick lane and only saw lots of other dodgy bike bits.

Just a quick bump in case people didn't see this yesterday, being a Sunday. I know bikes get nicked all the time, and I'm not the only one... just please have a look out for this, it's quite bright red in real life, and you don't see many Presto frames about.

I'll make this The Final Bump then move it to the stolen bikes thread.
