Has anybody had problems with the latest Firefox update? Mine's running really slow, and many pages don't finish rendering properly.
I've already deleted all int.temp.files.

Mostly Firefox, but as a newbie I don't think I can vote yet.
I feel like the women did before 1920...

I'm a web developer and I always wonder when people decide that they don't want to use Internet Explorer anymore. I mean, not everybody likes trying out new software and the vast majority of people don't care what browser they are using - they just want "the internet".
So, if you have any testimonials post them here. Did someone install it for you? Did someone tell you not to use IE anymore? Or was something about IE annoying you?

I'm just slightly "anti-Microsoft" in the same way as I am slightly "anti-Tesco"...
If there's a credible alternative, I'll use it to keep competition alive.

When Firefox was newish it was just better than IE in simple ways like user-friendliness and speed - well it seemed to be. Have just stuck with it ever since because it's what I'm used to.
Primarily though, my main reason for preferring it is that it doesn't make a fucking infuriatingly annoying clicking noise every time I click a link like IE does - my mouse already does that, why the hell would I want my browser to do it too?! -

Just changed from using firefox to Chrome, feels a lot smoother now.

Firefox ftw! Actually been optimizing my site for cross browser compatibility over the last few days and I got one thing to say about IE (6 especially) = worst piece of crap ever.

IE, deserted it years ago!
Firefox has been really lagging lately, even with the most recent update, so thats why I went to Chrome. but trying to download Flock to try out which is made by Mozilla, but apparently is "social web browser"... whatever that means....edit: Urgh Flock, ew. Real buggy.

do you have nothing better to do than waste your time digging up old threads to make a pointless comment

At 1.37am?
No, I was reading/searching through this thread to see what people's comments was for browsers. As firefox hasnt been good to me lately.
Is that a problem?Oh, and what all old threads? Hmm?

Recently I've found that Firefox places a huge drain on system resources. Its huge! I've trialled Chrome after a long time away, and it is much faster. Opera also is wayyyyyyy faster than it used to be. Now Opera is set to get even faster. I certainly prefer Opera to Chrome. I'm seriously considering quitting Firefox though. Its secure and its good, but the system drain is unforgiveable.

Still Camino…

Agree G, FF taking huge memory chunks now...currently trialling Chrome but may give Opera 2nd (3rd? 4th?) chance...

Except it doesn't have extensions.
And I am far too accustomed to not seeing adverts on the internet.
And I'm not sure I can do Gmail without the Better Gmail 2 extension that gives me Folders4Gmail, favicon updates, etc.
And that's before the userscripts.org customisations.
Oh... and if you're bleeding edge, the latest version of Firefox compiles the JavaScript too, so speed is relatively similar.

Old things are good.

Opera all the way. Plays multimedia much quicker and smoother than Safari. FF is OK, but sluggish in comparison.
Also works great on mobiles. Try it.

the only reason Im still using firefox is because I am permantly logged into quite a few websites and I dont think Id be able to remember my passwords, Not all my bookmarks are in chrome, it doesnt have the bit in the address bar that drops down showing more than 8 most visited sites, it is difficult to see your history and the way tabs get all scrunched up instead of spreading out like in ff.
Im pretty sure theres more but I cant think of any atm -

Like GA2G I used to use Firefox but it seemed to get bigger, more bloated and crash more. I like Chrome at the moment and now it's available for my Macbook I use it on all my machines. Just hope it stays fast and doesn't get bloated.
I've also got Opera mini on my Nokia and I'm very impressed with that - 331kb of pure efficiency and speed.

i use firefox all the time, as i am dualbooting windows and ubuntu...i used to use IE occaisionally....but i got pissed off that windows was taking ages to shut down one time when it was downloading something...bad idea....now windows won't load at all
:'(
i am supposed to be gettting windows 7 for free from dell if i havent missed that boat, so hopefully it will be a clean install cd rather than an "upgrade", which it probably will be. windows is horrendous to install. :(
