p.s. do any of you girls go to particular drinks? I am new and slightly nervous!
Wests!

• #378
quite a few of those ladies do South drinks on a monday night at the Coach & Horses in Clapham/Brixton
-
• #379
Come to Souths! Myself, and at least 4-5 of the other girls are regulars

Hi Ladies, I'm gutted I couldn't make this one, please do another and I'll try my hardest to make it this time. Looks like it was a brilliant day
-
• #381
I'm so there if this happens again.
+1!

• #382
looks like everyone had a great day - really sorry to have missed out on it, but looking forward to the next 'do'! rainham marshes then?
-
• #383
So what is the prognosis on a possible ride to Rainham Marshes? I'd be happy to help out in terms of organising. The ride to Richmond was great, and seems like flippin ages ago, all of a sudden...

+1
really up for another ride, and the marshes plan sounded great. -

Sorry, I'm hopeless, emailed Barry and then completely forgot to post about it.
Here's what he said:
"I'm south of the river so use the Woolwich Ferry to get north then fiddle up onto the river Roding crossing, then east along Thames Road (so miss the city farm cafe there), then Choats Road, north up Chequers Lane and over the Eurostar railway then it's New Road 1306 until Ferry Lane and the riverside for several miles until the RSPB site at Rainham Marshes."I don't totally understand this but can do a recce at some point soon...
Not sure when we could do it... the 5th September would be a good amount of notice but it's the same day as the Leaving East London ride... but then I'm not sure how many people would be doing that one who'd want to do this one, if that makes sense.

I'm away for the next few weeks, but sometime in September would be good. Bendix, lets make this happen. I can get working on the route in the meantime.

Midweek Sept works well for me too, but I don't know folks hereabouts... apart from on the ride. What should we do, start a new thread and start bashing about dates?
-
• #388
midweek is only a go-er if it's evening rides - desk slave that i am, but definitely keen to be on the next one :)
-
• #389
Me too, evenings or weekends are all good
-
• #390
Ooh, yes! Another one. Fab.
Must make it down to South drinks soon too to say hallo... been a bit slack about this.
-
• #391
Evening or weekend would be best, but i think its worth a day off work if it can only be organised for a midweek daytime. Can't wait.
-
• #392
Weekends are best for me, slim chance for a weekday evening but I'd try and get along.
-
• #393
I'm hoping to do a Rainham recce this weekend.
also for those who'd be up for a slightly longer ride, Nhatt's just started this: **North London Road Riding- A Sunday Club for Women. **

Bumping this thread - come on ladies you need to get involved in this!
http://www.londonfgss.com/thread29149.htmlBendix have you done the Rainham route yet?
-
• #395
Yeah... but I don't think it's very suitable. It's fine after Barking (or at least it would be if you use the cycle track we found after using the a road on the way there) but East Ham etc are a bit traffic heavy. I suspect it's way better if you do it from Greenwich as Southwark Cyclists do but I'm running out of weekends to recce again.
-
• #396
No worries, I'll have a look for another good route.
-
• #397
track fail for me - i'm off in the country that weekend but even if i was here, i'd be rubbish so....
was keen on the sunday ride thing as well as another one of these babies before the weather gets too shite...
how about the windsor route? is it too flat and boring for everyone? it is 23 miles, not sure if that's a good thing or a bad one...
-
• #398
Any chance of a women's social ride that isn't track sessions? Still gutted I missed the attack of the 50 women!
-
• #399
I am hopefully planning to do another ride before the weather turns completely, but maybe ending up in a nice pub with an open fire this time, instead of the park - thinking of keeping a similar route though - maybe making it a little longer but not much. I want to keep this as a social pootle rather than a really long challenging ride (thats what the women's sunday club is for)
