I was serving an old man at work and he told me how in his youth if you wanted to be a real man you had to ride fixed and that they called bikes with a Sturmy Archer poofs bikes.
I wanted to be a "real man."
But mainly that conversation made me remember how much I used to enjoy riding in a velodrome and made me want to start that again. Having to get a ferry everyday anything metal gets killed by the salt air so a fixed street bike was a natural progression.
