    Track bikes are for riding around velodromes in circles where braking is dangerous for other riders.

    A bike on the street needs a stopping mechanism. If you got the skills then riding fixed without a brake caliper can be adequate. But for most a rim brake in addition to the fixed wheels stopping techniques is the safer and more efficient option.

    If you are riding freewheel with no brakes how the fuck do you expect to stop? Your gonna get through a lot of shoes toe-dragging/foot jamming.
