I'm not sure how to do this as I thought ebay used your land line as proof of I.D. for setting up your account?
maybe he's on his hols or waiting for payments to clear or something?
No, this has been going on for about 11months
Is it worth trying to find someone in Colorado who could drop by and ask nicely to his face?
I don't wanna use someone from the cyclocross scene as Mares should be fairly well known there. Maybe someone from the fixed community? Or better still someone that knows someone close enough to drop by and ask in person.
+1Send Eyebrows' father.
I'll pm eyebrows.
My mate lives in Colorado. It's a big fucking place though.
Let me know if your wo/man is close enough.
How did you pay?
I have copies of every email sent and recieved as well as all PAYPAL reciepts
Have you tried calling and speaking to him? Sorry if you have tried this, but maybe he has a new email or something?
In the past I've tried calling but got no answer. Tonight however, there was a recorded message saying, 'this number is no longer in use' :-o
I even used his ebay's 'ask seller a question' option. How did you pay? If it was through Paypal you can let them know you haven't been sent your item and they'll refund you no questions asked, a friend of mine got screwed over by a buyer like this, even though the item had been sent and she had proof that it had been signed for!
I think it's been too long for ebay or paypal to get effectively involved.
I'm going to Colorado Springs next week. Not sure how I could help though...
I'd really appreciate it if you are close enough to be able to drop by, to do so. -

My account is probably a decade old, so I have no idea how things work now. :(

I got two answers so far as that forum isnt very active during the week
Proof of payment, via ebay or paypal will suffice. Although terms of ebay might be forfeited as amble time has passed. Small claims? And have a lawyer friend draft up a letter.
The FBI has a cyberfraud division that is quick to respond. I had an ebay seller try to scam me out of autoclave a few years back, I submitted an online request with the FBI and in one week I received a call from an agent and he was at the shop talking to the scammer. Pretty awesome.

From their FAQs
Q: Do you have a definition of Internet crime that I can refer to?
Internet crime is defined as any illegal activity involving one or more components of the Internet, such as websites, chat rooms, and/or email. Internet crime involves the use of the Internet to communicate false or fraudulent representations to consumers. These crimes may include, but are not limited to, advance-fee schemes, **non-delivery of goods or services**, computer hacking, or employment/business opportunity schemes.

good work Chris, thanks!
Balls! Now I'm wondering what they'd say when they see we colluded to minimise/avoid tax- they prob don't care as it was the UK to loose out, right?
-

Chris gave the same link as the person I just asked, but he also provided another link as well
Oh, haha. Damn America-centrism!
It looks like they are a US company, so you might still be able to file at http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx and more details can be found here : http://www.fbi.gov/cyberinvest/cyberhome.htm. -

I would say don't tell them but they will probably find out, they are the FBI, say it was his idea.

Have you tried ringing the shop number displayed on the Sibex website? If he is a reputable dealer then it is probably a cock up rather then a rip off.

I think it's been too long for ebay or paypal to get effectively involved.
Sorry to hear about this, nothing more frustrating then feeling fucked over money/goods when things are tight.
I'd a similar situation a while ago, and it had gone on for a few months & i thought that paypal had timed out (28 days or what ever the time frame is), there was radio silence on the other end, and i was left with no money or goods.
I just started writing letters/sending mails to paypal & decided to look into going to court over it. But by that time paypal came through (somehow) and the seller started contact again & everything got resolved quite quickly.
I'd advise moving this thread to private, as some people are posting about some darkside tactics & remember what happened with that £10- cycling jersey thread. & just continue to pursue this guy through as many open channels as you can use, still including paypal, even if they do nothing your complaints would be on file should a court day be nessary. good luck getting this resolved.
