• This was a indeed an awesome game! So many style points should have been awarded. The smiles on the FFF's faces while playing hard and fast, but with a sense of humour, just made me happy (highlight: Laurent skidding in front of/almost skid checking the goalie and smiling at Bill waiting for the tap out twice call - hilarious).

I can't remember anything about this game...

    too. much. polo.

  • Although Yorgo and Brendan's on court shenanigans were pretty great too.

yorgo and i were talking about this after, wondering why ray was stopping us having our fun. :)

  • More thoughts:

I've not played polo (yet) but I've read the rules and watched enough games to say I thought most reffing decisions were right. I saw the odd goal given that I would have called a shuffle, and one goal given that didn't go between the posts but it's a hard job reffing that many games and overall the reffing was superb. In my opinion it really helped the games and the tournament flow smoothly. And it provided more people to heckle which is always good. The shuffle/goal - Am I right in thinking Fred was there with his camera and had photo evidence to check. I think Aidan tried hard to make the right call and it probably was right.

Mention of the loo4poo truck - thanks to everyone who helped remove and put back the gates so he could get in to empty the loos. It was a bit Bernard Cribbins at times :-)

And special mention to Em for managing to heckle both courts at once, just so neither would feel left out, and to Downham All-stars who's teamwork belied their hastily-assembled nature. I know you guys play together fairly often, but even so, it was a pleasure to watch. Zombie too had a couple of cracking games.

  • Are there any pics of the final score board or a list of results.
I didn't feel I was able to take it all in and would love to see the overall tournament results and fixtures...

yesterday my arms felt like (what i would assume) they would feel like after going to the gym and i was mystified. then i remembered i was holding up those fuck off heavy gates for like 5 minutes!

I have one - it's uploading at the moment...

  • referees should not be taking cameras into hand to check a 'goal' and photographers should not be handing referee's camera's. I don't care whether it shows or not. That said Aidan did remarkably and he is as honest as the day is long, he called what he felt. Now can we get off the fucking reffing? It was superb end of!

  • the scrolly photo ticker thing on the bicycle images site isn't working properly for me. images look great in thumbnail size though.

  • The people who supported us with their sponsorship, all of whom gave something because in some way they actually get what we do; Andrea at Brooks, Matt, Martin and all at Chunk, Feya at BLB, Arin at Crumpler, the fellas at Shop 14, Tour de Ville, and Fixie INC with their beautiful bikes, Bill, Little John and Moving Target, Fred and Bicycle images, Lauren at Knog, Archie’s Grobags, Carhartt, Halo, Velocity, Bern.

    JOL/Gurney straps!

(Have you tried them yet Iain?)

  • JOL/Gurney straps!

(Have you tried them yet Iain?)

You got thanks for the Ts, but I did forget about your donation of lovely gurney straps too.

I totally wanted a pair, really pleased we got them! They'll go on the road bike when i get a sec, i'll let you know how they work out.

  • the refs were cunts

    end of story

can we now return to the bromance and mutual back slapping for all involved

I have actually been quite choked by the degree of support the event received, the spirit and generosity of the help and the great game play. I also thought the suporters were fantastic, so very vocal, amusing and helpful when needed. (when I shouted I needed a beer several were offered)

    inifinite rep to all involved

  • I agree lets move on. But i would like to share Jame's feeling of support and cheers Brendan for what you said...anyway....polo...tonight...see those of you who are man enough to not be scared of a bit of rain there!

  • Yep, the crowd support was pretty overwhelming; it's hard to know where to look when a small, hairy-faced German man keeps shouting 'Iain, make me a baby'.

  • sounds like i missed all the fun.....

    well done you guys.

  • yes, I'm working on it = standby

also, in keywords, it should be "ehbpc" not "ehcbp"

    Thats Polo!
