  • bobby o'robson.

  • Yes very sad RIP

  • The man just got on with doing a very good job wherever he went, he didn't slate other players/managers and only saw the good in people.

    A massive loss to football.

    RIP

  • a true gent
the current crop of didier drogbas and joey bartons have a lot to learn from a man like that

  • RIP

  • Like many people, his valuable contribution was only recognised after he'd moved on. Taking England to a World Cup semi-final, especially at a time when English football had been isolated from European football at the club level, was an amazing achievement. To go out on penalties to the eventual winners made it even more painful, so near yet so far.

For me though, it was his undimming passion and enthusiasm for the game that shone through. I wish I can demonstrate half that passion for something when I'm in my later years.

  • you're doing alright now andy.

  • rip sir bobby

i actually find uniteds restructuring more interesting. well, at least more interesting than citys hopelessness.
i think people should be excited about rooney hopefully coming out into a much more dominant role this season and, hopefully, playing some blinding football. there's also this will he/won't he get injured for a million years again question hanging over owens head again. we're likely to also see that welbeck (sp?) kid come through as well as that italian kid. seeing what valencia can achieve will be interesting too i guess.

i wish i could say the same thing for arsenal but their policy of only shipping good players out and buying very little doesn't really leave much to get excited about.

Only from a Liverpool fan. Its our year yadda, yadda, yadda.

Ferguson has proved year after year that he can change the way Utd play to fit in with the squad he has. We'll see what happens come the end of the season.

Arsene knows. Adebeyor stroppy git, one good season. Toure thanks good luck! Get rid of Eboue 10 mill joke, only need holding midfielder, proper centre half, and not in the pocket of someone who's bought a new toy! Rather be in the Ryman than sell out .

  • We've just signed Senderos as a replacement for Lescott! shakes head

    I give up* :-(

sell out of what? one of, if not the, most expensive sports in the world?
what seems more bizarre is that you're actually edging further and further towards a total buyout anyway.

same reply as all the other arsenal fans, cussing all your out going mail but not giving any answers to where all this incredible football, and more importantly, where all these goals are going to come from?

He's no Lescott, but he has got something, but not yet, too young. Needs to learn to read the game better. Dont think we could wait much longer.

  • i wasn't a fan of senderos at arsenal, not sure what he has to offer really, except giving away free kicks deep inside our own half and not communicating with full backs..

Eduardo, Van persie, Bendtner, Walcott, Arshavin, Fabregas, Wilshere and one or two new signings. Arsenal will play a different system this year that wont rely on Adebyor, defo more goals from mid-field. Over the last few years weve had too much possession, without much success.

  • John Hartson, off critical list, good news!

So shite then and a liability

Saying that, apparently he scored 5 goals in 15 games on loan at AC Milan?

  • I am being a little harsh on sanderos really, remember oleg luzny?.. no, i didn't think so, probably had one good game and that was for wolves.. not a good enough replacement for lee dixon IMHO.. i wonder if old oleg ended up as a football pundit.. ha

interesting to see where some ex-arsenal players are one/two years on. the likes flamini, hleb, viera (return?), gilberto .. arsene wenger is very smart with the club's money.. soon as a player comes asking for more wages or more say he shows them the door.. the only player to retire at the club during his reign is probably dennis bergkamp. originally bought by bruce rioch no less. that says alot about the current manager.. he certainly likes a clear out.. oldest player is likely to be what 22 years old.. low wages.. big ambition, huge talent, no experience same old story

like most fans, pleased to see the back of adebayor, mind you bendtner is a one trick pony.. shame about kolo toure i was an admirer for many seasons, but his comments are a little dis-respectful.. hopefuly wilshere, vela and eduardo can shine.. no doubt we will leaks goals again this season..

  • Arshavin's the key to your mob

You need a world class CB too, if not two...Gallas is not the same player he was at Chelsea

  • CBs are in short supply, need a solid midfielder, someone strong and dependable like michael essien to support fabregas.. diaby and denilson will be busy this season.. lets hope arse-shaving can bridge the gap.. he's more attack minded so probably spend most of the match in their half..

vermaelen will be interesting to watch in defence, lets hope he proves to be better than a chocolate fire guard

  • You were mad to let Stepanovs leave ;-)

  • Senderos is fine against most of the prem, only against the top strikers he seems to struggle (Torres will have him for breakfast, like Drogba did) but Everton don't take too much against the top sides anyway so in all if you make a £15mil profit swapping him with Lescott then your are laughing.
Anyway, Villa have done fuck all this summer so 6th spot looks sewn up for Moyes and his boys
