I have not seen them so can't judge but even in the Dolimites I never road anything that wasn't doable with a hard tail, it was slower than fullsus but still not that difficult.
I'm not saying suspension is not nice to have but the requirement to have full sus when riding cross country is nearly always overstated IMO and frequently a over kill stopping people from developing their skills. If your into downhill / freeride stuff then it's a different story.
