El Buen Sabor is Awesome. i was staying with some friends on 18th between Valencia and Guerrero and that was my local breakfast lunch and dinner spot. Chorizo is impeccable there. I have turned into a burrito snob ever since. Another place i really liked was up near the 24th street and mission bart - called El Farolito - they have really good Carnitas and i hear that La Taqueria is meant to be amazing but i never went. For another trip me thinks.
Zeitgeist wasn't the bar i was thinking of - i think thats actually at the bottom of Valencia or Mission around 10th or 11th? A couple of my friends work there - good beer garden!
This place is north of 16th and mission bart stop so i think i got my cross streets mixed up - it must be more like 20th or 21st. anyway they have a whisky night which = a double of whisky and a PBR for $5. The fish tacos are MAD GOOD there too. Actually - just googled it - Its called benders - http://www.bendersbar.com/
Other good food spots.
Tartine - 18th and Guerrero - best bakery you will ever go to. no doubt. seriously good shit.
Love and Haight - Lower Haight street - good sandwhiches - loads of vegan options and a good cooler with beers and soft drinks in.
Herbivore in Berkley and on Valencia in the mission is great too. Good veg / vegan and same goes for Greens Restaurant....
