Took my advice eh? Could always just buy a new one...cost around £13 or so.

I might have one - I fitted it for 5 mins but it didn't give me the chainline I needed - the plastic side split but not all the way through when fitting - still perfectly useable though? Will check later if it's still where I think it is?

I dunno why they don't all come with metal ends. I just reuse my metal ends from previous BBs and chuck the plastic ones.

They aren't £13 new, at least not after the price hike. surely! They are aprox 20-25, sometime more.
The cheaper one is the UN51 I believe. Also, the UN54 DOES have a metal lHS locking collar. As it happens though I do prefer the plastic locking collar. They are lush. That said, I can help.
I have a 107mm 68 emglish threaded UN54. Its been well used, and the outer shell of the BB is a bit mucky and rusty or what have you. But the bearings are in as new condition and the spindles are AOK. Thus in terms of performance its excellent.Yours for £10.
