yes. they do all sorts of bmx trix. even turn downs. looks gash.

Atomlab make a hydraulic gyro or you can use v-brakes/cable discs witha r egular gyro, or just stick a really long cable on it.
Looks like a good video, haven't heard of any of them either, MTB videos have come along way in the last 3-4 years.

barspins:
front brake is routed through the steerer tube, or you leave it off. this allows for infinite rotation.
Back brake is left long and wrapped under the stem (around the headset) one full rotation. this allows for 360 degrees in either direction.
As for there being "BMX" tricks, lots of those airs are pretty big and not very BMX in my opinion.... except for the dirt jumping.
