Obviously velcro and webbing are more resistant to smash/shock damage and less to abrasion.
Layers of velcro and webbing seem to hold up pretty well so far. Polyprop/nylon webbing is used to secure loads to trucks etc where tension and abrasion are both factors. That tells me that it should hold up okay. Time will tell.
