Anybody got experience of Nike ACG shorts?

I've just this lunchtime got some from Condor for £15. Probably not the best ever made, but they're only for a spot of touring. The say Condor on them. My first foray into lycra. Oh God.

I love the fuck out of lycra.
Gonna go buy some unpadded ones so I look like a hero running home tonight.

Shouldn't you be in Italy?

Nah, shorts over the top.
I've actually got a boil in the back of my leg that looks like Eyjafjallajökull. Its below the hemline of my shorts. Im buying the lycra to cover it up for when I run past the ladies.

Been using cheapo Condors for a while - £15, job done. Would probably kick myself should I ever upgrade to something like Assos and realise how low-end the Condors are, and how I've been unnecessarily brutalising my gooch all this time. But meh.

Meh here as well. If I was any more frugal I'd have used a cushion.

I used the Condors for a while, perfectly good.
But knocked into a cocked hat by my Giordana Tenax bibs.

Endura's standard gooch pad is pretty good - as are the one's in dhb stuff on wiggle (though a bit thick for me when using a saddle with much padding) ... I've got a pair of 2 year old condor shorts which are actually amazingly comfy, was in there the other day and saw that they seem to have upgraded the pad to something a bit plusher..
Can't go wrong for 15 quid, got to say that non-bib lycra shorts really piss me off now though -

The standard Endura pad is the cool-max. Cheap Moremile tights have it for half the price, though EEI managed to split the stitching on his pair with his massive testikels.
I am in the process of transitioning away from Cool-max fitted shorts as they do not match the shape of my undercarriage which means that I find it difficult to maintain pad/taint contact. This is a problem because sometimes my nurries slip in between the pad and my thigh when I am out of the saddle. Makes for achey aggots as they get jammed when I sit down.

wow, thanks for the information B!
Sounds like it's a case of badly fitting shorts rather than the actual pad itself.

Nah, they fit perfectly. Tight as fuck around my loins.

Too much information.
I spotted the Karrimor shorts in Sports Direct the other day for £5. Are they any good? Never bought padded shorts before, might give them ago since they have them in my size. Condor's largest ain't gonna fit me!

just get some decent shorts and stop rooting around in bargain bins.
you can get decent shorts for £40-£50 (giordana a good example)why do people buy nice bikes then scrimp on everything else?
use good tyres, gloves, shorts, pedals, and shoes. if you can't afford it buy a cheaper bike! -

....and good socks. No point in buying bling bling ballet shoes and wearing them with thick toweling socks.
FYI Pendas has alot of nice Santini bibs for resonable monies

Would I be right in thinking these (or something similar) have minimal padding:
http://www.parker-international.co.uk/9267/Pearl-Izumi-0235-Tri-Shorts---Black.htmlThe reason being that a full padded short is overkill on my 10 mile commute and I generally find the padding gets in the way and is HOT... I'm quite comfy in normal everyday baggy shorts but it's the underwear that kills it. Seams in the wrong spots! I have found cotton/lycra boxer trunks work well but still not perfect.

Yeah tri stuff has pretty minimal padding. The other option would be running specific lycra under shorts. As well as having the seams in better places, the wicking material goes a long way to keeping you comfortable.
Took a look at this thread, after much deliberation as to whether to purchase a pair. Just bought some from probikekit, they've got some v.good end of TDF sales on atm. Snapped up a pair of Bianchi Milano bibshorts for £40, and my friend got Castelli pair, limited edition.
Worth checking out if anyone is interested in comfort on those long summer rides.
