Have to say, I am loving my HOLD FAST straps. I had to harvest the platforms from my BMX, but they mounted quick. These straps are super comfortable, I swear they make tricks easier too (I pulled my first 3-tap within an hour). They hug your foot right and sit more over the arch of the foot, less on the toes, than traditional clips & straps. I was bit worried that they wouldn't hold up while bombing through traffic, but they have proven to be as solid as traditional toe clips in that area. These straps are beefy! They also hold their shape real well, unlike powergrips. They are also waay easier to adjust for different shoes. I was also able to get mine in red. All in all, I've decided to never go back to toe clips, so long as I can get some HOLD FAST straps.
Now somebody's got to do a comparison between Jol's straps and the HOLD FAST straps (and I'd be happy to do it, hint). Honestly, the hardware on HOLD FAST straps seems pretty indestructible. And I know that Jol relies only on the velcro, so I wonder which would give our first - the velcro or the buckle? I'm gonna guess the velcro will fail first, especially if you adjust it often. Anybody know the usage life of velcro? I also wonder how these straps will hold up in heavy rain or in winter conditions (guess I'll find out soon enough).
