Tim, here's the bikely link to that Essex ride I was talking about - kicks off from Shenfield and does a long loop round Chelmsford.
http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Essex-50m-loop
Loads of trains to Shenfield but Its almost 90k, so probably too long for an evening ride. I normally add some bits on to take it out to Maldon, but may have a recce and see if some corners can be cut off to bring it down to TNRC size.
That's easily done--just chop off the loop north of Great Waltham, and do the 'Round Chelmsford' route bit straight across east, through the A130 Essex Regiment Way roundabout, along Wheeler's Hill East, to rejoin the route (assuming it's meant to be clockwise). That should cut off 10-15k?

Another very nice TNRC, I loved the route, fast and flat...well apart the significant Gravel Hill!
I felt i bit guilty with myself for to be a bit low in energy, hope to be in better shape in fourteen.
Thanks to BMMF, and it was a pleasure like usual to ride with all of you.

Some lovely roads last night rolling and mostly very smooth.
Big shout to BMMF for time well spent planning, recceing and leading out in true TNRC style.
As Tim said on the ride, we must be the only people who don't mind it getting dark earlier (well on a Tuesday anyway)
Glad I eventually recognised Gina 3/4 of the way round (apologies) nice to see you again! -

Sundridge Hill on fixed? Ouch. Even BMMF might concede his legs hurt after that one.
Not as bad as Brasted. Sundridge is a big ring climb ;)

Yeah, you have to stop to cross Pilgrims Way up Brasted Hill. Momentum loss and all that...
Nice view from the top of Brasted Hill, you can see the house that I lived in from 9 months to 29 years and 10 months. Interesting, huh?

BTW, you can also see the radio mast that sits atop Exedown Hill.

Seriously though we should actually approach Hope.
I have written to them. No joke.
No response tho :(. Really need to pick up the blower to them but not have had time.
What we really need is some ace shots of us riding in the dark and a "hope line up".
That would be ace.

We're little fish in the world of nightriding, but I suppose it would make a change from their off-road focus.
What's the point though? Who would get the free lights? If you still need one you shouldn't be out on the rides anyway. It's a political minefield. Would I get a little Hope logo next to my avatar?
Meh.

I have Dinotte lights. Would I be made to feel welcome on a Hope sponsored ride?

• #2137
Fuck me! I won't bother then you pair of cunts.

Hey...I'll keep my line if you keep your speed.

I'll keep my speed if people who don't know where the fuck they're going keep their place.

swaines lane in the day then bmmf?
-
• #2150
At some point, probably. But I've got specifics to work on, and the top bit of Swains is no good for looping (1-way). More likely Hillfield Park at the moment.
I just looked at Sam's map again. Fucking hell, Sam. Never mind the climbs, but there's a couple of descents which I'd want to do fixed in the dark, just to stop me from otherwise coasting into the abyss :O
The Surrey Hills is a flat route next to that one. What have we done to make you so angry?
