Parts bins are something you need to ask for...and in some cases earn the right to paw through.
In BC we have one (and lemme tell you something, it's a good one!) but we don't let people we don't know come into the back of the shop to look for stuff. We are happy to have look for what you need, if it's some thing in particular.
PS, if it's bad form to talk about what my shop does when your asking a general question let me know. I've himmed and hawed about it, and posted anyways this time.
