forgot to say i might do Aubisque tomorrow instead but it looks more torturous and poss think i deserve a rest after the tourmalet...i know we plan to ride every side of ventoux every day but i dunno if i can if how i feel today is an indication....though i did ride 110 km including the tourmalet and the rest of the route was pretty damn hilly so maybe...

That €280 looks nice. I think common lavery is essential, as is being isolated from external harmful effects. It's also called Raymonde, after Poulidor no doubt.

seth sent this, what do you think? i'm up for it
Hi,
This place is in Bedoin - 3 person caravan for 27 euros a week!
http://www.lemeneque.eu/tarif.htm. I vote this one... -
• #89
i just looked and it's 27 euros per night not per week. but still pretty cheap but that one is just 2 double beds and dunno about sofas etc in a caravan...whereas for the one with 3 beds is 52 euros per night.
but for that price we had may as well go for the:
280 euros- well nice
http://www.carpentras-ventoux.com/en...ntras-provencehadn't we?

That €280 seems best so far, gotta be better in a flat/house than a caravan, safer for bikes too.

next year????

What advice to give to riders?
To think about taking on this challenge, riders have all provided CV's proving that they are not new to this game. Behind all the dread and the tales of woe, there has to be an appetite for that special kind of glory that comes with most summits climbed. As well as this fundamental love of climbing and being out in the wild, to climb relentlessly for 10 days, riders need to 'settle in'.
On the physical plane, after several months of committed training, they should have sorted out their breathing and pedalling technique for long sustained climbing efforts. They need to stay in their comfort zones as much as possible to avoid exhaustion or injury. Quick recovery is the next requirement, which can only be developed by back-to-back riding during training. The rest, on the event, will be in the mind: riders should lap up the scenery-it's the best antedote for the pain and is a major part of what the event is all about. The mind should be making the most of each passing moment, focusing on the next 100 metres ahead and on nothing else. -

good work people!

Nice one Nes. I hear the Malaucenne side is pretty tough, it looked it when I descended it in July.
Nice bike too. :-)
-
• #95
Mid-section of the Malaucene side is tougher than anything on the Bedoin side, though the final 3 or 4km on the exposed section are a fair bit easier than Bedoin.
