  • Grrrgh woke up feeling awful this morning, sorry I couldn't make it, hope you got my text in time Graham and didn't wait...
To be fair it was only partly the drinking, I was actually ill and completely burnt out as well....honest...

  • nice one graham for sorting that out. a lovely cruise through most london post codes checking out the homes of some average and okay, slightly above average football teams.

really good to see so many out there and meet a few new faces.

for future versions: yep, take in crystal palace and maybe brentford, sort TT at the Emirates - would be a great way to end. and let The Bailey know we are coming and reserve a space. nice pub that and surprisingly empty. brilliant to end the ride by watching Cav take Paris.

nice one guys, see you out there on the blacktop again soon.

oh, and good pics - keep em coming. graham i want to see the one of you sat with the chelsea team dude.

  • just wanna thank u all for the support and for the wait, while i got lost, dicki for the beer on the ferry, marco for the mechanics (and sorry for the "bang"), graham for the ride and everyone else!!! It's always nice to meet new friends, makes me enjoying more riding my bike.
got some wicked pictures, will post them tomorrow!!

    Metrocammell-Napoli, Italy representative.

  • That looks bloody great, gutted I missed it... :/

  • Joe, you were missed.

  • 53 miles (home to home)
    4600 calories
10 pints of fluid (and still dehydrated)
    Max speed 26mph

Lesson learned: Vintage cotton replica shirts are not a great idea when you are obese and sweat buckets. There is a reason for lycra and other modern synthetics.

A really great day out. Next time I will take the photos rather than marr them with my sweaty being.

  • what a very nice day yesterday was, really great ride around london and really pleasant company, nice to meet some new faces and see some old friends and graham great to meet you to fella !!!

the pub at the end i don't think we could have found a better place
completely empty, enough room for 15 bikes inside and the tour de frances' final hour
    531 awesome everyone 531

  • Good shit pistanator for getting that together, was an excellent sunday spin. Good people and some fuggn sweet bikes, win.

  • Big love and respect has to go out to Dave(SCFC/peopleofearth) for cycling the whole route(initially only wanting to do the first 3 stadiums) with a suspected fractured wrist and no cast!

    :-)

  • Excellent bike parking pic in the Bailey!

Indeed. This is brilliant. Please fully name and acclaim the pub that was happy with this! Is it this one?

  • @Oliver, yes that's the pub, not sure they'd allow it on a match day but fantastic of them to do that for us and put the tour on the telly.

@dicki, thanks for being the beer hero on the Woolwich ferry, there's be a pint with your name on it next time we meet.

  • That's the one Oliver. Completely empty when we arrived. They put the TVs on for the last hour of the tour and invited all our bikes in. Good work.

^^ +1 Dave - hope your wrist is OK. Disc brakes for Alpine downhill next time,eh?

Graham - 59mile round trip for me, so you must have hit a bit over 60.

  • I, this be the pub. There wasn't a sole in there until we got there, Dicki made sure they'd put the tour on for us before we even crossed the road to it, then there was no stopping us.

  • 62 miles for me christening the new whip. and for those that wanted to know. yes that Spider saddle was more than comfortable. normally anything longer than that and i would consider padded shorts anyway.

good photos graham. did anyone catch one of you with, uhh, joe cole?

  • A longer cranks for the geared, and a storika or a spider for the fixed are now in my ebay priorities.

  • Looks like a really nice ride. Good one. But, strangely, a bit cock-heavy.

  • ....something for the boys

  • girls just don't get the offside rule and are thus always perplexed by football, poor little dears !

    ;-)

  • Right then, got my pics sorted. Check them out here.

There's also a link through to the full flickr set. Ray Wilkins stuck-on head is genius!

  • Loving the view-past-my-beer-and-gloves shot.

....."It also serves Thai food and Sunday roasts."

Not any more it doesn't, although that review was written 2 years ago :-(

It used to 10years ago when I used to drink in there

It's definitely changed, it used to be heaving every day and night in there
