Anyone heard of any other people having problems with the Trek Soho S?? I happened to be riding in a straight line on a sunny evening in May doing no more than 12-15 mph, heard a couple of clunks and went over the handle bars. The result...Broken wrist and 6 weeks out of work earning nowt :o( ....
The chain came off and went inside, instead of outside the chain ring!! Any thoughts?? I haven't taken it to cycle surgey yet, but obviously intend to do so. I bought it brand new and was so ONTO the bike...Now, I don't really ever want to get back on it....Penny for your thoughts?? Thanks..James

Sounds like not enough tension on the belt. Take it back to the shop you bought it from and tell them to sort it out, you may want to show them your injuries and see what the say!
Get back on and ride and heal soon.

definitely sound like the bike shop didn't fit it properly, it's not your fault from what I see, (and there is nothing wrong with the Soho S technically speaking).
I'm sorry to says this mate is that you'd need more than 6 weeks for your wrist to be back to normal, I broke mine during a skiing accident, 6 weeks bandage but 1 and a half years till my wrist felt perfectly fine, although after 6 months I was just able to play tennis without too much pain.

Hello LFGSS :)
Doubtless you're all bored with answering similar questions but I'm going to ask away in any case :p
After a steel framed fixed for less than 400 quid. What are the top pics?
Many thanks in advance,

Schwinn Cutter - good looking, but heavy (single-speed)
SE Lager (White) - a good effort IMO (single-speed)
Fuji Track - proper fixedBTW SittingDuck, the list illustrated all this for you. Odd question.

Yeah, I went through all the links in the list but wasn't sure which were any good or not :)
But thanks for the reply GA2G :D

A second hand Charge Plug might do it for you. They seem to be pretty well built, but they're a little on the heavy side. What's the intended use?
-

Cheers for your thoughts y'all...Definitely not gonna let it put me off riding...They've told me a year till my wrist is normal too... Hey Ho....See you out there someday...

Don't suppose anyone knows of a place where I can pick up a new '09 polished Langster at all? Everywhere seems to be out of stock due to the release of the '10 models.
I am well aware the Langster is frowned upon somewhat, but I would like an aluminium framed SS really, and would rather not spend £450 on a down specced '10 model.
Alternatively maybe a cheap charge plug?

I'm looking for something similar to SittingDuck, cheap, plain and dependable for the commute. Probably get a proper nice geared road bike for the weekends after that but via Ride2Work.
Unless something second-hand pops up on here it might be a Cutter or a Revolution Courier (£280, heavy but as solid looking as you can expect for the $$$ i guess).
Could go for something a bit more expensive like one of those black Langster 2010's... or maybe a Genesis Flyer which looks to have a nice light frame for the monies.
Decisions decisions...

Best go for the Flyer, they're a pretty good bike, very popular amongst couriers in London (unless they're all fakenger with plastic radio strapped on their bag).

They all look like glashjobs

Glashjobs... wat?

The Revolution Courier is only £20 less than a Fuji.
Unless i was planning on a lot of crashes I'd rather have the Fuji. You could sort it with a brake and maybe 28c tyres for less than £350.

Hmm that is a good point. My mate just got a Fuji though so we canny have matching bikes :)

It's an edscobleism.
My only experience with the KHS Flite 100 was riding on a Mercier Kilo TT (which is a re-branded Flite). Decent 4130 Chromoly frame (I believe the TT was 'Reynolds 520') and the geometry is track-like. If I had to choose the Flite vs the Fuji, I'd go with the Flite, but only because of the larger frame size. I think the Flite comes with maybe slightly higher-spec parts OTP, but it probably costs a bit more.
I'm from Jacksonville, FL, which is the home of BikesDirect.com. They're the guys that sell fake Mercier, Motobecane, Dawes, and Windsor bikes (so you see a lot of those bikes around town). I had a friend who owned a Windsor 'The Hour' which is just a rebadged Fuji track, and I couldn't see a lot of difference between 'The Hour' and the 'Kilo TT' in the long run.
