Lockrings are the only thing that really have the diff threading issues; cogs just vary slighty in shoulder width which only really bothers if you are a chainline nazi.

thanks for your answers. so you'd say there is no problem using a eai sprocket? that's great.
and doubletap: you should better not use the word nazi in this context - sound's kinda dumb... :/

i just said that because i'm german and i don't like people making some kind of 'jokes' with the word nazi. i hope you didn't missundersand what i'm saying - it's hard to discuss about that topic in english for me.
never mind ... i think my question is answered.cheerio.
and i'm sorry doubletap if you felt offended or what ever.

Just to add - don't buy a cheap cog and you will be absolutely fine. -

I confirm that you are right
hey,
i'm wondering if i can use a non shimano track sprocket - something like eai, phil or soma - on my dura ace 7600 rear hub?! the thread of the eai/phil/soma is the same: 1.370" x 24 tp but has anyone tested this before?
i would like to have a 17t sprocket on the one side of my hub. sadly there are no dura ace sprockets with more than 16t...
thanks for your help.
cheers
