  • we could enter this!!!

    Sunday 18th October

    V9916 (Cragg Vale)

Last years event saw perhaps the biggest entry in the north outside of the Nationals. 70 riders (including eventual National Hillclimb Champion, Matt Clinton) were lured by the chance of riding the countries longest continuous ascent! The climb starts in Mytholmroyd, and although not very steep (and therefore suitable for tandems), does climb for nearly 5 miles. So for a hillclimb, you get a lot racing for your entry money!
    **Start: **2.00pm
    Headquarters: TBC
    Course Description:
Start on Cragg Road, Mytholmroyd (B6138), approx. 0.5 miles south of railway bridge, at telegraph pole no.2, adjacent to entrance to Townson & Thornber (Oils & Lubricants). Proceed south on B6138, through Cragg Vale, to Finish at southern end of wooden fence over drain, on lefthandside of road, and opposite wooden signpost for Whiteholme Reservoir, and Pennine Way, approx 0.5 mls north of junction with A58. (4.812 mls).
    Entry Fee: £6.50 / £13.00 Tandems
    Event Organiser: Denise Shackleton

We should totally do this - if we're going to be a proper club, we have to do some hill climbs! Did you see the tour today? No spoiling, but it was VERY exciting.
