I've have been asked to produce some songs for a new artists major label pop release this October.
I've been offered a contract which specifes a sum of money plus a percentage from; Syncs (tv, film, ads etc..), radioplay, live performance and so on.
But...
I need a lawyer who specializes in media to check over the contract. I have been put in touch with some good people but they are expensive.
Anyone know one or can help?
Thanks.
I ain't no mother fucking lawyer, but I can outline the basics for you.
First you must prove that you have a non-cracked version of Autotune, before we can proceed.

I have made a frog crazy (by confusing it with legalese and magic tricks) but had nothing to do with the ring-tone phenomena of the same name.

Build - you need proper advice from an experienced media lawyer. Try www.legal500.com to get some ideas.

Music lawyers are scumbags, Alasdair George was my old lawyer... He was Blur's representative too... Only lawyer I ever met that I felt I could trust...
EDIT: Just read his CV and it seems he's moved on a bit since then... Oh well... blushes -

Writer, producer for a "new" artist from Sweden.
I'll also record their vocals here as place holder, with the final vocals and mastering being done by a big studio.

We (Jeepster Records) used to use these guys: http://www.sgdlaw.com/
They're not cheap, but the difference between a cheap lawyer and a good lawyer seems to be enormous.
