why quote a sentence about cadence to ask him if he's coming to play?
-
• #18003
Eh, sorry, he doesnt always notice he has PM's. He's meant to be helping out with my bike...

The jumps are fairly big...but then on a 3 speed fixed i'd prefer that...you only really need to change gear when there's a significant change in gradient either up or down.
- 1 really hoping these do have the range to make a difference

prototypes were running 82-62-52 ratios, so looks good.

On a cassette with several gears yes...but when you only have 3 gears there's not much point having them too closely spaced. Your legs will adjust quickly enough because if the terrain has changed dramatically you'll need to be the equivalent of a couple of gears higher or lower to maintain a similar cadence anyway.
I should've thought about the number of gears in relation to the spacing.
mind you if the 3 speeds fixed become popular once it's release, 7 speed internal hubs fixed wheel? that'd be the day!

I don't know how to put the images from FGG on so here's the link.
I know its come from the anti-thread, but IMO this is heavy - good idea, attention to detail, all the components work well together... basically fulfills its purpose.
Awesome! I'd kill for fabrication skills and facilities like that!

Diet Pepsi? Soya milk? Who is this guy?!
That bike is pretty sick though.

I thought that when I saw the look and the price, but as you say it's 6.9kg, which doesn't even qualify for inclusion on weightweenies. Under 6.8 only, unless you can qualify it with excuses like being cheap, having fat tyres for P-R or some such. I can't see where £12k has gone on that build
Frame: BMC SLT01 £1899 RRP (£1235 @ Wiggle)
Wheels: DT Carbon RRC Aero £2900 @ Parkers (should have had Lightweights for that!)
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Kit carbonio Flow £139 @ Parkers
Groupset: Campagnolo SuperRecord 11-speed £1575 @ Parkers
Pedals: Speedplay Nanogram Titanium £450 @ Parkers
Bars & Stem £500 tops
Conti GP4000 tubs £122 @ Parkers=£7585
BMC paint schemes might be shit, but I still wouldn't pay an extra four grand to get them to leave the paint off!
There should be a Hublot watch thrown in for that price i'd have thought.

I thought it was a hublot watch, its large and garish enough

Where did you get the cinelli pic from? i am sure that frame has been posted up before it was built up
Loving the napkins under the tires, though its a shame if it never gets ridden

cinelli a repost from years ago, but defintely worth seeing it again, I most especially love how the cinelli bike look fairly modern (probably not that one) despite being from the 70's, all down to a good type.
-
• #18016
speaking of Cinelli, is there a website that show all the classic cinelli especially from the 1970's?
-
• #18017
cant remember where i got the pic, somewhere when i was trawling the net for cinellis. i have the horrible feeling its a showbike that doesnt get ridden. i think thats the most beautiful bike i have seen.

All I remember is that they're usually called Laser, that'll give you a bit of result from google image search;
-
• #18019
the most famous one that we all know and an balant repost, the fabled Cinelli Laser Rivoluzione.
Ray Dobbins is currently trying to get some history about the Laser.

I was looking forward to the 90-72-65 GI version would be perfect for riding around here as I know I can get up everything Dorset has to throw at me on 70GI.
