very nice - - i've chooped a few but never seen the tie under with chain links before - i've got an old wrights i'm going to have a bash at this myself.
how did you cahmfer the edges - i tried it myself with stanley blade but it's hard and i took one to a cobblers - it was a graded chamfer he did but worked out great. 2 gbp he charged

should be quite unique as the actual swallor is thinner than the b17 so should be an otherwise unobtainable wide swallow
-
• #7
oh yes - did you use 3/32 or 1/8 links for the b17

Great idea skully, and totally yours.
I could have made a metal plate to do the same job, but there seemed little point! those hardened plates were a right bitch to drill out to the size of the rivets though

Fantastic work! Might have a go at doing one of those myself. What's the best way of cutting the leather? Craft knife, Dremel or what?
I bought this for the Goff and chopped it, but I can't get it in a position I like, so I'm going to sell it on.
It's a week old B17 which I chopped to the swallow profile myself. The underside is pinned and riveted with a pair of chain links - edges are neat and it looks great! Seen maybe 10 mins use, if that. I'm oop north so it'll have to be posted/paypaled, probably by first class post I think...
