Rebuilding road wheels for track

  • Is there any problems in having a road rim rebuilt with a track hub, specifically rear?

I'm after a Carbon deep section rear wheel, but the only ones that come up are road wheels with cassettes. What are the problems here, or is it an easy transition?

If you mean, come up on ebay, you have not been looking very long. There have been 3 sets of track zipp 440 wheels, 1 set of corima aero track wheels an a couple of other set of track carbon wheels in last 4-5 weeks (3 sets last week).

    Must try harder D-

  • No way! I've got Zipp, corima and HED all saved as searches. I've not seen any! What am I doing wrong? Can you show me a set? I've seen a few front wheels but not rear or both, and I've been searching for about three months!

  • Rims is rims really e.g. Planet X carbon 50 rims were available on road or track hubs.

You can buy Corima and Zipp deep rims new on their own to build your own as Pistanator did for his Corima rear.

  • I'll redouble my efforts! Thanks for the tip dude.
