  • Search for the 'current projects' thread if you are looking for inspiration.

Also, search for threads with 'advice', 'newbie', 'noob' .... in the title. Your questions have all been answered before.

    Oh, and welcome.

Also term 'fixie' makes my blood f**king curdle! Looking forward to meeting you lot at East drinks and future rides! Peace

  • Hi everyone... I'm Canadian, live in Vancouver currently but will be moving to London in September for school. Somehow I found myself in the fixed community here so I thought I'd check out the same in London :)

Good day to all, also a fellow do-gooder (Canadian), but 500kms east, in Calgary.

Carrying on my existential crisis in London, and have been lurking on this site for a while. Have decided to oust myself, as a newbie bike enthusiast.

So, ehrm, hello. I'll be asking a lot of questions.

    Probably.

Hello Canadian ladies, welcome to the forum :D

  • Hi folks, am looking for some advice about fixing a Campag Record Pista to a Tifosi frame - can anyone help?

  • Yes. Ebay the Record and buy something decent.

What exactly do you need help with? Fit cranks to bike. Attached fixed rear wheel. Fit chain. Ride.

    More detail here: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/fixed.html

  • the crank that is with bike is creaking so am looking at an upgrade - on bb it states 1.37 x 24 BSC so am assuming this is english thread right? Will Campag Pista fit straight on and do you know if I can use it with a Eno freewheel? Anyone got that combo?

  • Yeah BSC = British Standard Crap ;)

    Check the transmission database thread.

If it's creaking then I wouldn't fit new arms onto the BB.. it's most likely the bb making noise, followed by loose chainring bolts, then chain and other stuff..

  • Had a look through and cannot see that combo. Am new to here so please excuse my ignorance. I was thinking of changing the crankset to a Record Pista and Campy bb to match with a Eno freewheel unless anyone can recommend a better freewheel? Awful to ride as it is now.

  • Also was wondering if that combo would work in that frame? Can you tell me the std formula in the database thread Hippy? Is it Crank + bb + hub?

  • If I had record cranks i would find a suitable new BB for them (see the transmission db).

A 120mm ENO should then match up for proper chainline. The issue might arise with your frame.. I have no idea what it is.. is it a conversion (I assume so since you'd not need to run the ENO if it was a track bike or road fix).

  • The frame is a Tifosi Pista CX with Miche Advanced crankset with shimano freewheel. I want to change the crans to record and change the bb ro campy Pista and change freewheel to eno.

  • Hullo folks. I'm in Newcastle upon Tyne.
