Tour De Scouse?

  • Hay, through my job as a cycling development officer I have been looking to promote cycling is some different and unique ways. Weekends being my time so I’m not on the pay roll has allowed me to use my networking and contacts to get some weekend rides up and running locally. These have since fell into the shape of pub tour's on bikes which has so far lead to some interesting riding!

The idea is to bring together the large cycling community and ever increasing number of fixed and single speed riders every Sunday for a mass tour of Liverpool’s finest ale house's and see what happens.

No ownership is held just simply allowing for direction from anyone who wants to hop on their bike and have a good day out. Obviously there are other underlining factors than just a piss up! Overtaking the city with bikes may be the goal but simply promoting cycling as fun and to show an understanding of what is possible and the integration of all breeds of cyclist can happen will do for now.

Originally we came up with the idea "tour De Scouse" though on some inspection we discovered we had already been beaten to the title with what I believe to be a race series?

As I am not looking to conflict with any current ideas I am looking for guidance and support as to if those responsible would be happy for me to adopt this name on a part time basis simply to get more people onto the saddle!

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards and happy riding...........
