@Horatio: I'll come to polo and we can talk abou the "scene" there. Afterall my post was influenced more by Buffalo Bill's article about needing to be careful about media and subsequent police/policy backlashes (link in original post), not pining for the scene you may once had. I joinded too late for that. I just want to ride my bike(s) and not attract too much attention (from tourists and cops on a road in London OR from horse riders and farmers on a trail around Dorking).
I'm not sure what that first sentence meant. Is it a threat? A real offer? Or an attempt to call me out as a hypocrite (making some insinuation about the polo scene, which is probably one of the most open and inclusive scenes you'll ever chance upon, and has sold itself out more times than I can count. We were even on a cookery show!)?
And Bill was writing about televising alley cats (if I remember correctly), not a ban of filming people riding around the city on the bike of their choice with the braking mechanisms of their choice. And he thinks brakeless fixies are retarded (but he also thinks lock rings are retarded), so he probably wouldn't be supportive of your secret scene, anyway. But I'm not going to put words in his mouth; you can come to polo and ask him yourself if he's the high elder of fixie culture.
