if its a cloth backing to the surface, and not suede, then its plasimodo
the smell of plastic has fooled me in the past.....now a previous g/f could tell at a distance on plastic/leather and quality, and what animal the leather came off, and where it was cured.....it was rare for her to touch the leather to check! My collection of leather jackets aren't good material :-((((
