I think it's on Kentish Town Rd. or just a door or two off it. I also don't recall it being strictly a BMX shop. I bought a Raleigh Chopper a few years ago there. And got some used risers for polo bikes last year. Nice folk, simple shop.

Not a BMX shop at all - they sell a variety of bikes.
I have lived in the area for years and usually find going in there an irritating experience. Was in there twice recently (through desperation, as the previous time they were so rude I decided not to go back). To be fair, the last two times they were ok, if not a little patronising. Not the cheapest.
Whatever you do, don't go to Camden bikes in Mornington Crescent - that is a rubbish shop. Looks like it may just be selling a bunch of nicked bikes (it is next to Somers Town estate - sure there is a good supply).

You're right natural, I sometimes end up there when i'm in a hurry patronizing attitude, expensive gear and limited stock! There is one nice guy in there though, think he is the manager...
Also, i went to Camden Bikes about 1 month ago, the guy described it as a 'recycled bike store' whatever that means. -

hey i know the one you mean in morny, but are you sure it's called 'Camden Bikes'?. I remember the old Camden Bikes, run by a couple of greek (?) guys, but they closed down a few years ago. Now it's a Woody Grill.

Sorry, it's Camden Cycles.
They haven't got a clue in there - they'll just try and flog you any old shit, might be worth a try if there are ever any thefts in the area though.

Tell me about it...
I got a bike from Camden Cycles 5 weeks ago... an aluminum hybrid... just spotted that the frame is cracked above the fork crown. Fuck. It was £120.
Going to try and get my money back at the weekend, know they are going to tell me where to stick it.
Only thing I can think of is threaten to setup a website at www.camdencyclesaredodgy.com, I'm a web-designer so I know I could get it to show up in Google if you searched for them no problem.

3stripe, why did you shop there in the first place? Did you ask the advice of the forum? For that price, I'd have said get round to Edwardes Cycles on Walworth Road. They have quality 2nd hand bikes there, and you can be sure of good service, and subsequent back-up. I saw good 2nd hand bikes there at £150.

Hey GA2G, sadly I am new to cycling and only just found this forum.
Thanks for the tip though :)

Sorry about that. Hopefully something can be worked out. I doubt they'd give you back your money. Go for any exchange for another bike.

PS. Did you mean this Edwardes in Camberwell?

Yes, the one and only.
