I like how you colour co-ordinated your bike and duvet cover...actually I don't, that is beyond the pale my man.

I've a 531c carlton, very light. I think it was the top end of the 531 series.

Same as my bike but a couple of hundred numbers earlier. It's a 1986 model built by Raleigh under the supervision of Carlton honcho Gerald O'Donovan. Roughly the same as a Raleigh Team Replica. 531C is super-thin 531, very light. Would have had 700C wheels and Shimano 105 14-speed gruppo. Absolutely superb ride; just did 45 miles on mine this morning. Best bike I have ever owned. Dannyboy: Lucky man. Make a good job of it - this is a total thoroughbred! The last of the V8-Interceptors! (see Mad Max 2).

Ah, mine was an 86. But the a track bike, and so much lighter than my other "standard" 531 bike.

That's a good looking frame.
I have a 1989 Raleigh Centenary (531c too) and the tubeset and braze-ons look identical. As de Selby says it's a nice ride - so smooth.
Last week I did two rides of about 50 miles, one on Fuji Track with Charge spoon saddle, the other on the Raleigh with a well broken in Brooks B17 special, the difference in ride was astounding. Fuji: tight but smooth, but my butt was tender afterwards. Raleigh: a lazy, plush ride that I could have added another 30 miles to and not noticed.
For steel, 531c is a such a comfortable and light tubeset but you dfo get some frame flexing when out of the saddle.

Stunning bike - I have a Campy groupset in search of a frame, but this is too small for me. 53/54cm is my thing. Whoever dibbed this done good.
