the real cutting edge hipsters get their stuff from rummaging in the bins outside real bona-fidey keirin velodromes in japan.

if I was either from blb or shop14, I would be reading this taking notes.
costumers always pay more where they're being well received. -

that look like a squid.
I think you can read the start of atlantic herring on the right IMHO.

Every time I have gone in to BLB I have found them to be really helpful and will always go back.
They are knowledgeable and honest.
Just my two pence but really give them a break please !! -

Where I live there are two chippies. My usual was closed so I went to the other. There was a pie in the warmer on the counter. I ordered pie and chips. The woman behind the counter said they didn't have any pies. I pointed to the pie on the counter. She said "I know, but you can't have it because you've only come here because HE's shut." I became a loyal customer.

I went to BLB for the first time the other day. They were very polite and helpful. 2p

I went to BLB a couple of weeks ago asking for a lockring tool. Without the blink of an eylid the female assisstant says "£40", better bring the bike to us. Fine except I don't actually live in town and the bike is 90miles away - £40, that sounds like a parktool gold plated platinum injected diamond studded tool to me. Upon further inspection of one of the stands leaving the shop I glance at pedros trixie fixie tool, priced a a mere £20. I think this is a tad over the mark, walk out and go and buy it elsewhere on line, cheaper. Not impressed.

I jumped the red lights at the north side of Waterloo bridge this morning (like most mornings) and was ringing my bell rather excessively to ensure the peds parted ways allowing me straight onto the cycle path through onto Bow Street. As I glanced left-right-left-right checking the way was clear I spied Jan (of BLB fame) RLJ'ing heading east on the Strand, but slowing down quickly to let me pass unhindered. What a gent.

i dunno...i'm new to this game but have just also spent a G today in blb via cyclescam after having a genesis flyer robbed and i'm shocked by the volume of stuff on blb here.
seems to be the whole fixed scene is like any other...skating, snowboarding, bmxing...self-expression, feeling like you're doing something non-mainstream...whatever. some people are cool...some people are not. all of these scenes have some gnarl and it wouldn't be the same without it.
lets be honest...all of this shit is about one-up-manship...who has the sickest bike, the nicest styles, the freshest moves so there's always gonna be some arrogance/attitude. like everyone on here's never looked down on someone's set-up and turned their nose up. its the same shit hypocrites!
my conclusion..anyone that goes into blb and doesn't like it is spineless and easily intimidated and really should either grow some balls or melt their bike down and go hang out in gamesworkshop and wank over making the nerdiest metal troll figures...or whatever the fuck it is they do in there

why same post in 2 different threads?

double fresh moves innit

"i'm new to this game but have just also spent a G today" - haha!
funny thing is its not even the same post, its been written twice, slightly differently.
also, if you say all these "scenes" are the same, then say how if someone doesn't like brick lane bikes they should give up cycling and start collecting warhammer, wouldn't that be a scene too? wouldn't there be games workshop hipsters too?
sorry if i missed something.

well..apologies all for the repetition. i just joined so i have to post on 3 threads before i can get full member status...just getting my numbers up.
guess i overshot with my G comment. i'll personally actually spend £43 x 12 = £512 for £1000 worthish of bike (lets leave the G's out of this) i think that by anyones books thats ok and a whole £88 cheaper than an otp flyer.
i think the scenes are similar...not the same. nothing wrong with a little bit of attitude or gnarl, and yes i'm sure there are some gnarly hipster lead figure makers. but seeing as you have the warhammer knowledge you tell me?
-
• #115
Ahh, Warhammer. I didn't get the reference.

i don't have warhammer knowledge. stop being silly.
and the whole posting 3 times thing doesn't mean just post anything anywhere as long as it adds up to three, where's the fucking substance. *what are you bringing to the table??

my conclusion..anyone like me that goes into blb and gets talked into dropping a G is spineless and easily intimidated and really should either grow some balls or melt their bike down

MUPPET.
Maybe some of us aren't about one-up-manship, maybe some of us happen to be in love with riding bikes, and want to spend time with other people that enjoy the same affliction.
You had one good experience in blb and you decided to post some asinine shit about how anyone who didn't is an hater who iz just hating on blb's good thing, yeah?
Piss right off. I should bloody well hope that they are being nice to someone who just "dropped a g" in their shop.
I've known Jan for years, I used to date one of their mechanics (who left recently) and I work as a courier with one of their new mechanics. I'm not just some person hating on blb, I'm someone who got bad service by someone I thought was my mate.Oh, and you can get banned for posting the same post in multiple threads just to get out of the nursery, didn't you read the rules? I didn't think so.
-
• #120
banned? surely not! my life will end...how will i cope without access to to nice people like yourself? i think you're taking this all a bit too seriously. 'dropped' was not my phrase, but if i was you i'd be dropping a chill pill.
-
• #121
Yeah, dude. Like, totally.
-
• #122
funny...you do have a point about the one-up-man-ship though...it is a lot of fun. maybe we can agree on that.
-
• #123
'Freshest moves'? On a bike? Like what, riding it?
-
• #124
My moves are well stale.

I mean... wicked stale... or something.
